There have been enormous protests on the streets of Seoul in South Korea. Directed against the president Park Geun-hye and her close friend Choi Soon Sil. Choi isn’t actually a government official, yet manages to seemingly hold fair influence over Park. Allegedly she has been influencing the Presidents public position on matters by guiding her and editing her speeches. Additionally, she is accused of assisting Choi in channelling millions of dollars into Chois’s organisations illegaly. The South Koreans are pretty unhappy about this as up to a million of them have been out protesting at any one time. The Presidents approval rating is at an all time low of about 5%. Apparently it doesn’t seem to matter what part of the world you are in these days, the politicians all have their snouts in the trough and the notion of representing the people is a fantasy idea that exists only in the minds of idealists. The world needs to clean house.
